CHIHUAHUA NEWS APRIL 2008

This page tells you all about what my Pet Chihuahuas website is and is not. I am not a registered breeder, although I do have a very good vet. Their details can be found on the links page if you are lucky enough to be local. This website is all about keeping Chihuahuas as pets, not to show. Chihuahua's make excellent companions and family members. They are very small dogs with big hearts, ears and brains! Infact, Chihuahua's brains are usually so big they give them the shakes! Yep, some Chihuahua's tend to shake and people assume it's because they are scared, cold or nervous. Although, it's true that stressful or new situations can cause a Chihuahua's brain to go into overdrive, and that will trigger the shakes as well. But some Chihuahua's do it more than others. The main reason is that their brains are quite large for an animal of their size. Hence the big 'dome' heads.

Anyone who has had a Chihuahua will tell you that they are the best dogs! Once a Chihuahua lover, always a Chihuahua lover. It's easy to become snobbish about other dogs when you have one, cause they are just so much better!! (I jest, and yes, I am biased! Apologies to all those owners of other breeds. Including my sister who has a Maltese and my best friend who has only ever had Pomeranians!) However, this is a website dedicated to Chihuahua's only. On the left you will find a menu which will navigate you to all the pages on this site. This is the home page, next is the Care section.

The Care pages will tell you everything you need to know about caring for your Chihuahua, from puppy-hood to adult-hood. There is even a recipes page for those of you who really want to spoil your little friend. And lets face it, who wouldn't want to spoil a little Chihuahua!

The Problems page will tell you about some of the problems you may encounter and how to best avoid them. Breeding will tell you about breeding your Chihuahua if you so wish to. A lot of websites I have visited warn against breeding your pet under most circumstances. Now that I have gone through the process, I can understand why. However, if I can share my experience and knowledge with those of you who are thinking of breeding their Chihuahua then my mission in building this website will be halfway complete. It is also where you'll find any of my puppies for sale when I have some. Please note, this is for Chihuahua puppies only.

The Forum is where you can go to discuss any issues or questions you may have about Chihuahuas that is not on covered on this website. Feel free to also share any funny or interesting Chihuahua stories you may have.
